EASTERN HOBAS PIPES
CO., LTD was established to manufacture Centrifugally
Cast-Glassfiber Reinforced Polyester Pipes (CC-GRP) in
2002, in a joint venture between Eastern Water Resources
Development & Management Pcl. (East Water),
Thailand's leading water management and distribution
business, and HOBAS Engineering GmbH, Austria, the
worldwide manufacturer and distribution of CC-GRP Pipe
Systems. The Production Plant located in
the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estated, Rayong.

Eastern Water was establised in
1992 by the Provincial Waterworks Authority for the
management of raw water pipline systems to serve
indstrial consumers in the Eastern Region of the
country. Its Map Ta Pud Operation Office supervises and
controls raw water pipeline networks in Chonburi and
Rayong, while its Chachoengsal Operations Office is
similarly responsible throughout Chachoengsao
Province.
Becoming a public listed company with the Stock
Exchange of Thailand in 1997, Eastern Water has
distinguished itself through its many accomplishments
over the past decade, including the award of a 30-year
contract, from the Ministry of Finance, to manage and
operate raw water distribution pipeline systems in the
Eastern Seaboard.
In 1999, the Company became the first water
management services company to be awarded ISO 9002
Certifications, followed by the award of ISO 9001:2000
Quality Management Certification and ISO 14001
Environment Management System Certification in 2002.
As a major part of its operation is to install water
pipeline networks, it was logical for Eastern Water to
establish a joint venture with HOBAS Engineering GmbH,
Austria, one of the world's best known and respected
manufacturers and distributions of high quality CC-GRP
Pipe Systems, to ensure the supply of reliable, too
quality, specially pipes, ideal for a wide variety of
water management projects.

Engineering GmbH, Austria, is the internationally
renowned manufacturer and distributor of Centrifugally
Cast-Glassfiber Reinforced Polyester (CC-GRP) Pipe
Systems, with manufacturing plants and distribution
centers in countries all over the world.
When seeking a replacement for traditional wooden
rollers used in their textile machinery, the company
tried to produce cylinders with a smooth surface made
from glassfiber reinforced polyester resin. The
manufacture of cylinders by pipes from
this idea. The process was automated and
the product range of pipes and fittings was extended to
satisfy the market requirements. The raw materials are
so simple that CC-GRP Pipe Systems can be
manufactured anywhere in the world and their universal
applicability is based on a unique combination of
chemical and physical properties which allows it to
be customized for practicaly every situation
